SONGS FROM EXILE

Tibet : songs from exile is a sound portrait of the Tibetan community exiled in Ladakh.
Combining music and sounds from daily life, this album takes us on the high pasteureland of Chang Thang where the nomads roam, and in the refugees' settlements in the Leh Valley. The record highlights rural music very little known outside Tibet : a cappella song with a slow and melodic phrasing, shepherd flutes, peasant lutes, etc... New music forms are also presented, in spired by hindi pop songs or by the need of expressing indentity.
Most of all, the album introducing an endearing population, whose songs bring about a rich past to bord onto an uncertain future.
An excerpt : harvest song
