This album is a new challenge for Troupe Tanga. After crisscrossing the Isandra Valley countryside performing in family festivities, supporting all sorts of social projects (health, agriculture, environment…), winning competitions at all levels, from neighborhood to region, singing and dancing in front of the crowds of the Fianarantsoa grand stadium, composing and recording intercultural songs with the inhabitants of a french city, they took on rmaking their first record.

The album was recorded in Antsangy, the family village, in a rural studio set up in Tanga's house. Between weeding the ricefield, punding coffee and harvesting chili peppers, the members of the troupe recorded their voices and instruments, accompanied with elegants birdsongs and merry poultry.

The songs describe life in the Isandra Valley, they tell its joys and sorrows, work and feast, hardship and solidarity… Carried by the fiery flux of string instruments, the voices harmonize with an impetuous ease.

This is the Treasure of the Ancestors, an heritage ever reinvented, reshaped, renewed, which allows these farmers of the Malagasy highlands to step into the future with trust and pride.
